To see the usually spirited Aishwarya Rai down with high fever and severe throat infection is like a sore to the eyes for the Bachchan Pariwar.

Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan said to be quite concerned over their daughter-in-law’s health condition and keeping themselves by her side, attending to her needs. Big B had written in his blog: “There is high fever and an infection in the throat, cannot talk, cannot swallow. Sad and so concerned to see her in such a condition. Abhishek has been summoned from his shoot as Jaya and I attend to her.”

While Abhishek tweeted his concern thus, “The morning was spent with a rather unwell wife. But, work calls so off (to) the shoot for 'Crooked'.”

Aishwarya reported to have been honoured with an award at the India Today Woman Summit. Owing to her bad health, her hubby Abhishek went to receive the award on her behalf.

However today the light-eyed beauty seems to be on the road to recovery; for Amitabh Bachchan stated that she is showing slight improvement.

“The swelling inside the mouth below the tonsil is not tonsillitis as was presumed. It is something else and that is worrying. When you cannot swallow water even, it is more worrying. But today the antibiotics seem to be working and there is some relief. The infection abates. The rash and swelling on the face reduces. She has been able to take in some liquids, but her speech is still laboured,” penned the veteran actor further.

Get well soon Ash baby…
